Position Summary

We are seeking a Mechanical Assembler with experience in mechanical assembly in a fast-paced, mid-volume, manual production, manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will be able to work from procedures, visual samples, blueprints, and bills of materials (BOM), build and test products with help from Lead Assemblers, and be willing to be cross-trained in different areas in production. Dependability in areas of attendance, quality, and work pace is crucial.

Responsibilities

• Build motor assemblies and subassemblies using verbal instructions, procedures, samples, blueprints, and BOMs.
• Operate machinery used for manufacturing, winding, and assembling fractional DC motors and armatures.
• Lift and move 8-pound assemblies during 90-minute intervals.
• Use air-driven tools, hand tools, presses, solder stations, and measuring instruments.
• Learn the correct method of operation and procedure for assembly being produced.
• Visually inspect parts, castings, and sub-assemblies for accuracy or flaws prior to performing operation(s).
• Repair and replace assemblies and parts in motors.
• Stand and walk; use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, stoop and kneel, handle, feel, talk, and hear.
• Maintain standard production rates and quality standards.
• Perform light material handling work when required.
• Rotate positions and work in different work cells.
• Be dependable in areas of attendance, quality, and work pace.
• Be familiar with plant safety concepts and able to identify potential safety concerns.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years in a fast-paced, high-volume, electro-mechanical production assembly environment.
• Good communication skills (oral and written).
• Basic computer skills for email, online, and office applications.
• Ability to work independently/in a group setting/with direct supervision.
• Skilled in mechanical assembly, soldering, and wiring.
• Ability to receive training and instructions from others.
• Ability to interact and work with production associates, manufacturing engineering, and quality control.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
